Georgie Spence

Georgie is based in Foxham, near Chippenham, Wiltshire and comes from a horsey family. She went to Stonar School and gained 10 GCSE’s before starting her career in Eventing. Thanks to the support of her family and current owners, she has started to make a name for herself as one of the top up and coming young riders in the sport.

She started eventing at the age of 15 years having previously done Show Jumping, being placed at Hickstead and HOYS as well as being longlisted for the pony European Team.

In 2014 Georgie started eventing on her Show jump pony Darraks Tonto and was a reserve for the European Pony Team. She then went on to do Juniors in 2006 winning Team Silver and YR in 2007, 2008 and 2009 winning two Team Gold Medals.

Moving into Seniors with some top 20 results at 4* and 5* level placings Georgie then finished 12th at Burghley in 2015 with Wii Limbo. Since then Georgie went on to win the CIC*** Austrian Leg of the Nations Cup Series in 2017 and then Millstreet CCI*** in 2018.

In 2019 Georgie was then selected for the Toyko Olympic Test event where she finished just outside of the medals in 4th place.

Moving forward Georgie is looking to compete for Team GB at Nations Cups, Senior Europeans, Worlds and ultimately Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Georgie says: “Thanks to family backing and my current owners, trainers and horses, I feel I am starting to establish myself in the sport but you must never standstill. It is a tough game and I aim to be in it for many years.”
