Pet Studio Photoshoots
A studio photoshoot with your pet is absolutely perfect to capture them in all their glory and results in lots of excellent, professional images to decorate your home with. Whether you’re looking to capture their best side with some classic studio photos, or their crazier edge with a treat catching session, a studio photoshoot is what you need. You’ll be invited to my cosy home in Melksham, where I have converted my spare room into a studio, and we’ll take some time to familiarise your dog with it’s new surroundings before getting started. Don’t forget to bring your dogs favourite treats, toys and any cute props or outfits you own if you’d like them to feature in the photos. Take a look at my social media accounts or pet studio photography portfolio to see more precious photos.
The investment
Rather than offering multiple packages, with various products included, I have gone with the ever popular à la carte style of service. Simply book my pet studio photoshoot package, which includes two complimentary low resolution digital copies, and when you see your final, edited images you can choose to buy as many extra photos as you wish. Backdrop Changes
During your session, we can take a short break and change the backdrop colour to increase the variety of photos within your final gallery.
Endless treats
When I say bring lots of treats with you, I mean lots! Especially if you would like some treat catching pictures. But don't worry, if you run out I have a back up stash.
Bring your props
If you have some props or outfits at home which you'd like to feature in the photos (i.e. a bandana), feel free to bring them along! I'm happy to incorporate them into the session.
10% off outdoor sessions
Outdoor photoshoots yield a very different collection of pictures to choose from. So anyone who books a studio photoshoot can redeem 10% off an outdoor session. T's & C's apply.
It’s up to you whether you’d like to focus on classic photos during the session or aim to get some characteristic treat catching photos. Please be aware that some dogs get stage fright and may not be keen on food/treat catching in the moment. If this happens, and your aim was to get treat catching photos, we will revert to a classic session so you don’t miss out. If you would like more than one dog photographed during the session, please message me and we can discuss the best way to accommodate your pack. A £50 deposit is required to secure your chosen date, with the remainder to be paid at least 24 hours before. You’re also welcome to pay for your shoot in full upon booking if you prefer. Only the products specified within the photoshoot package are included and expire 6 months after your gallery goes live. After this time, you can still purchase images from your photoshoot, but cannot claim the complimentary products.
Photoshoots make fantastic presents, why not buy a gift voucher?
Whether you’re buying a gift for a close friend, family member, or that special someone, all photoshoot packages can be customised to craft the perfect present. You can either buy the package listed above or opt for redeemable credit to give them the flexibility to choose any type of photoshoot.
Frequently asked questions
Honestly, not that well trained. A few moves such as sit and down are handy so that the pictures are a little more varied, however, a loose stay isn’t essential, and we can use leads if needed too. If you’re worried, feel free to send me a message and we can have a more in-depth chat about your concerns. Remember, a picture freezes a moment in time and therefore if a few seconds of stillness is all we can manage, that is still plenty of time to snap a beautiful photo.
If you’d like to have a full photoshoot done with multiple dogs, there won’t be enough time in the studio session advertised. However, I am more than happy to discuss a bespoke session with you to allow time to photograph all your dogs and give them each the time they need in the limelight to achieve stunning results for everyone involved. Please send me a message to discuss this matter further. For larger packs, it might be easier for me to bring my studio to your home (it’s fully portable!) so you don’t need to leave your dogs in the car when it’s not their turn – the studio would be too small for all the dogs to wait in at once.
Of course! In fact, this can be a lovely touch to a session as well. If you’re a bit on the fence about whether you want to hop in for some, come dressed as if you will and then you can see how you feel in the moment.
My studio set up is 100% portable and we don’t need loads of space for me to set it up either. So if you feel your dog would be more comfortable in familiar surroundings I can come to you. Just let me know when booking.
Despite dogs being the bulk of my portfolio, I am more than happy to also give other pets a try! I have popped my kitten in the studio previously and did get some gorgeous shots of him. Feel free to message me with your enquiry and we can have a chat.
The ideal scenario is to position you dog on the backdrop, ask them to stay and move you behind me so they look directly in the camera. Therefore, ahead of your session, it could be a good idea to brush up on your sit stays and maybe polish up some tricks such as beg or paw. When doing the sit stays, I would suggest practising asking them to sit, moving a few meters away and making some silly noises to see if they can stay still whilst random things are going on. Don’t stress too much if the pre-shoot practise isn’t perfect, sometimes all we need is a few seconds of still to get a cracking shot.
The photoshoot itself is just the beginning. After your session, I will start to narrow down the images to just the best of the best. Once I have the final photos selected, it’s time to get to work with editing each photo, which I feel is just as important as taking the photos. This process usually takes up to 3 weeks, but I will always endeavour to deliver them to you sooner and, with your permission, share some sneaky peeks on social media. Once the photos are ready to view, we can arrange a date and time for you to pop back to my home and view your photos in all their glory. During this viewing session, you will have the opportunity to view examples of the wall art on offer and place orders for your favourite photos.
Clients often expect there to be a time limit when it comes to placing orders, but this is not the case with me. You’re welcome to buy your photos as soon as possible after viewing your gallery, or if you need a little longer to decide or wish to buy a handful now and more later, that is no problem at all. Any of the products included within your photoshoot package must be claimed within 6 months of the gallery going live. After this time you can still make purchases, but won’t be able to claim your free products.
